September 10, 2008 - NW Justice Project will present an informational program on Living Wills and Powers of Attorney at 10:30 a.m.

September 25, 2008 - A program on Disaster Preparedness will be presented at the Hoquiam Library at 6:30 p.m.

October 16, 2008 - The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is presenting a program on the Changeover to Digital Broadcast Television at 1:30 p.m. Discount coupons for digital adapters will be available.



Page Turners -- Book Discussion Group
The monthly book discussion group now meets 7:00 - 8:30pm on the first Tuesday of each month in the Hoquiam Library meeting room. These books have been selected for upcoming discussion groups:

  • September 2, 2008 - The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan
  • October 7, 2008 - A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. LeGuin
  • November 4, 2008 - Atonement by Ian McEwan
  • December 2, 2008 - A Long Way from Chicago and A Year Down Under, both by Richard Peck
Everyone is invited to join the group at any time. Ask for a copy of the current month's book at the Reference desk.
